CLASSIC American cars will be heading to Dawlish Warren for the south west’s largest US car show. 

Everything from Mustangs, Cadillacs and Chevrolets to Pontiacs, Buicks, and Jeeps will be on show at the annual Cofton event which returns from Friday June 23 to Sunday June 25.

A packed weekend of family events is planned including live music and Cofton’s annual dog show. 

On the Sunday, more than 200 American classic cars and vehicles will be in display between 10am and 4.30pm. 

Visitors will be able to get up close to the classics and there are competition for vehicle owners including the Director’s Cup, Best Custom Car / Hot Rod, Best in Show and the People’s Choice.

The event kicks off with a celebration of iconic cars with a party in the marquee with live entertainment from Buddy Holly Tribute. 

Saturday sees activities for children including bouncy castles and inflatables, circus skills, face painting and balloon modelling.  

From 4pm, it’s the annual dog show with various classes for best junior dog handler, best dressed dog and best in show. 

More music in the evening with 1950s rock and roll. 

Chris Jeffrey, director of Cofton Holidays, said: ‘The south west’s biggest classic car show is back with a bang.

‘With live music, great food and drink, Cofton’s fantastic dog show and amazing cars to see, there’s something for everyone.’

Tickets can be bought on the gate at £10 for adults and £5 for children. 

Anyone arriving in an American show car will have free entry for up to two people.
