THE carnival circuit had some notable absentees this year, but this was not the case in Bovey Tracey, for the town put on wonderous festivities.

The penultimate event of which was the carnival procession, which saw all manner of costumed persons parade their way through the town, before giving way to the Summer Fete the next day.

And with that, festivities came to a close.

‘Thanks ever so much to everyone that has been involved with all the carnival events across this week,’ a spokesman for Bovey Tracey Carnival committee said

‘It’s a huge job for a small committee and we need more people so if any of these events have given you the spirit to join please email us!’ the spokesman added.
