A CAR caught fire on the Dawlish business park this morning, Monday.

Fire crews from Dawlish and Teignmouth were called out shortly after 3am to deal with the blaze.

A Fire Control spokesperson said: ‘We received a call to a car on fire in Dawlish business park. Control mobilised two fire appliance from Dawlish and Teignmouth due to information passed during the call.

‘On arrival crews confirmed well alight and they got to work extinguishing the fire using breathing apparatus and a CAFS jet.

‘Crews confirmed the fire had been extinguished which started in the boot compartment of a private vehicle.

‘The car was 60% damaged by fire.

‘This fire was deemed as accidental and the incident has been handed over to police.’
