A ROWER was brought back from the dead after a heart attack during Teignmouth's Gig Regatta at the weekend.

The casualty, a man in his 50s from Salcombe, had just completed a race with a crew mate when he collapsed in the gig 60 metres offshore.

The drama unfolded just before 3pm on Saturday with the crew mate giving CPR to the rower.
