THE Bovey Tracey Players and The Bovey Paradiso joined forces this week, signing a memorandum of understanding to formalise the process of working together for The Paradiso project.
When the project is completed, the new cinema and theatre space will provide a much-needed performance venue for The Players.
Not only that, but with well-planned theatre facilities, it will hopefully attract other theatre groups, concerts, comedy and of course the opportunity to watch the latest films.
To help pay for the initiative, The Players have agreed to work with The Paradiso to raise funds to help keep Bovey Paradiso’s vision going.
In addition, The Players try and support local charities each year, and this year they have chosen to support The Paradiso.
All being well, the catering facilities will soon be completed as a welcome addition to the already successful art gallery.
When funding permits, a start will also be made on building the auditorium at the rear of the building.
Chairman of The Bovey Players, Nigel Gillingham on the left, with the chairman of the Paradiso project, David McGahey, sign the agreement.
