TEIGNMOUTH and Shaldon have received another big dose of national publicity – this time in a top boating magazine.

The May edition of Practical Boat Owner devotes four pages to the area and encourages sailors to pay a visit, despite the tricky entrance.

There are ten photos of scenes around the estuary, and is more very welcome free promotion that will, hopefully, help to lure more boaties to the resorts.

The article provides full technical details of how to enter the estuary safely and lists the many facilities available to nautical visitors.

Most guide books advise avoiding Teignmouth because of the navigational difficulties and head for Torbay or Dartmouth, but writer Cameron Snell is more positive.
