RESIDENTS at Mulberry House Residential Home in Bovey Tracey were invited to watch the 136th Wimbledon Finals complete with Pimms, strawberries and cream and a game of balloon tennis.

Organised by wellbeing and activities co-ordinators, Claire and Nicola, the Aviary lounge was full of residents for the event. They even set up a ‘Balloon Tennis’ court so that residents could join in on the action.

Mr Alan Brighty, who watched both the ladies’ and men’s final avidly, reminisced about the time he was a steward at Wimbledon in 1977 exclaiming: ‘It was an experience I will never forget.’

‘At Mulberry House we provide such a varied social calendar of events which intend to keep residents mentally stimulated, active and connected to the community.

‘We are so pleased this event went well and we look forward to the next, our Barn Dance in a few weeks time.’
