POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious two-vehicle collision on the A30 near Tedburn St Mary in which an 11-year-old girl suffered life-changing injuries.

Emergency services were called at around 12.40pm on Thursday, August 20, following a collision involving a Volkswagen Polo and a Ford Ranger on the eastbound carriageway near the Fingle Glen junction.

The young girl, who was travelling in the Volkswagen Polo, was airlifted to Bristol Children’s Hospital, where she remains receiving treatment for her injuries.

The female driver of the Polo and two other children travelling in the vehicle were taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with minor injuries.

The woman remains in hospital.

All of those involved are from Monmouth in South Wales.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are urging anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have captured relevant footage on a dashcam, to come forward.
