A WOMAN was cut free from her car by firefighters just after Midnight after she was involved in a crash at the Penn Inn Roundabout.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call for help at 12.23am this morning (Wednesday) from Ambulance Control following the road traffic collision at the Newton Abbot roundabout.

A Fire Control spokesperson said: ‘Two fire appliances from Newton Abbot and Torquay were immediately mobilised by Fire Control. 

‘On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed that one female was physically trapped following a road traffic collision where her car had collided with a wall.

‘Crews got to work using hydraulic rescue equipment to free her from the vehicle by removing the roof.

‘The female casualty was left in the care of ambulance personnel.’
