A COUPLE and their dog were rescued by Teignmouth’s lifeboat crew after being stranded on a beach near Labrador Bay.
The pair had landed on the beach at dusk in an inflatable - but could not relaunch.
They tried clambering up cliffs but the task proved beyond them, so they called 999.
Their saviours arrived just before 9.30pm on Tuesday, taking them back to Teignmouth and landing them safely at Polly Steps.
The following morning the crew were involved in an air and sea search at Hopes Nose, off Torquay, after an overturned boat was found floating in the area.
The 7.30am search was called off two hours later when the boat’s owner turned up at a local police station to confirm that no one was on board.
