Teignmouth RNLI lifeboat crew helped in the search for a missing person yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon.

There was a multi-agency response in the search for the missing person on the River Teign.

The volunteer lifeboat crew were asked to launch both the Atlantic and Arancia lifeboats and were afloat at 2.30pm .

The crew was asked to assist in a search on the River Teign, due to low water the Atlantic lifeboat could cover a limited distance but the Arancia lifeboat went beyond Coombe Cellars.

The Devon and Cornwall Police and police helicopter were on scene and the local Coastguard team was also involved.

The missing person was located safe and well and the crew were stood down at 4.17pm and returned safely to station.
