A 91-year-old man has died of injuries suffered in a single vehicle collision at Kingsteignton.

At around 3.30pm on Friday emergency services were notified of a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a black Mercedes Vito on Newton Road, Kingsteignton.

South West Ambulance Services and Devon and Cornwall Police attended the incident.

A spokesperson for the police said: ‘A 91-year-old pedestrian was taken to Derriford Hospital with life threatening injuries, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. Newton Road was closed for approximately three-and-a-half hours to allow for an examination of the scene, and recovery of a vehicle.

‘Officers from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for any witnesses of the incident to come forward quoting log 519 Friday 02nd October 2020.’
