ARSONISTS have torched a car for the second time at the same location in North Bovey.

A fire crew from Moretonhampstead was called to Bughead Cross to extinguish the blazing vehicle on Sunday night.

The alarm was raised just before 9pm.

A fire spokesman said the car was well alight by the time firefighters arrived at the remote scene.

They wore breathing gear to fight the flames which were extinguished with a hosereel jet.

The cause of the incident was later confirmed as deliberate.

The spokesman said: ‘After consultation with the police it appears the vehicle had previously been burnt out at this location - and had been set on fire again.’
