A DRIVER had to be cut free from their vehicle after a crash on the A38 yesterday morning (Friday).

Buckfastleigh Firefighters report on their Facebook page: ‘Along with colleagues from Ivybridge Fire Station and Totnes Fire Station we attended a road traffic collision on the Bristol bound carriageway of the A38.

‘On arrival we found one vehicle on the embankment with the driver still inside suffering severe back and hip pains.

‘Crews set to work making the vehicle stable and then removed the tailgate and rear seats to enable the driver to be removed safely onto a stretcher and into the awaiting ambulance to be conveyed to hospital and we wish them a full and timely recovery.’
