Two fire engines dealt with a car on fire just off the A38 near Rattery.

On arrival on at Dean Priory just after 7.30pm on Tuesday evening crews from Ashburton and Buckfastleigh put out the fire using a hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus, a thermal image camera and electric cutting equipment.

‘The car was 50 per cent damaged by fire and the cause was accidental,’ said a Fire Control spokesperson.
