A TRAINING session on a stormy March evening is enough to send a shiver up the spine of even the hardiest rugby player.

But not this lot.

It’s a Wednesday, and Newton Abbot Ladies have congregated in the Rackerhayes clubhouse before their weekly session.

The rain outside is giving the dim floodlights a battering, before slowly soaking into the already saturated pitches.

It would take far more than that to keep these players inside. They begin to head out, with the session taking place in the dauntingly named ‘sandpit’.Tamsin Crossland – or ‘T’ as she prefers – leads the way.
