SPRING is in the air at Teignmouth Golf Club! The ladies at Teignmouth GC have set their sights high again, as they play golf, have fun and prepare to contest the Devon Co competitions.

Last month, 2026 lady captain Anne Steele Arnett was given a traditional guard of honour as she made her "drive in".

Using a vintage hickory club proved tricky, but Anne, as always rose to the challenge driving 31 yards. This distance was predicted by club chairman, Philip Waggett who entered the charity draw with contributions adding to the £800 kicking off the 2026 Captains' Charity fundraising. These funds will jointly benefit the Torbay Breast Cancer Unit, Torbay Prostrate Support Association and the Mesothelioma Support Group.

This week, a fun (but yes, slightly competitive) evening was enjoyed by ladies of the three team squads; with the theme of "Battle & Bond."

They are hoping to do their sponsors SW Food, The View & Exeter Finance proud by winning the inter-club competitions this year.

Finally, on Wednesday, March 11, all the lady members were invited to take part in a light-hearted Greensomes match followed by cream scones.

Drawn into two opposing teams, the "Pinks" led by lady captain Anne were beaten by the "Blues", led by new 2026 lady vice-captain Rosie Burnham. Nothing too serious... but lovely to enjoy some golf in the rare Spring sunshine!

A great start to the golfing year... and with plans well in place for the Ladies' Coffee Morning from 10am on Wednesday, March 26, visitors & guest are welcome to come along and join the fun too.
