Devon County Council’s adult education provider, Learn Devon, has recently launched its new programme for adult learners.
New courses are set to start from August and September onwards and Learn Devon is currently taking enrolments. A number of courses require potential learners to have an informal assessment to determine their current skill level before enrolling.
Learn Devon will continue to offer face-to-face courses at Newton Abbot Library alongside additional venues across Teignbridge.
In addition to its face-to-face provision, Learn Devon offers a number of online learning pathways. The online options are ideal for those who have limited access to travel or have caring responsibilities.
Learn Devon’s latest programme includes GCSEs and Functional Skills in English or maths—key qualifications that can open doors to employment, career progression, and greater confidence in everyday life. Fast-track programmes are also on offer, ideal for those looking to quickly gain qualifications while balancing work or family commitments.
In addition to core subjects, Learn Devon has expanded its Skills and Development programme to include qualifications for mentoring, early years, self-employment, and sectors such as education, mental health, and nutrition.
Courses are designed with adult learners in mind, featuring small, welcoming groups and supportive tutors who are there to help people succeed.
If you’re looking to learn new skills, change careers, or simply want to support your children’s education, now is a good time to get started with an adult education course.
Learn Devon’s mission is to make learning accessible and rewarding for everyone. If you or someone you know missed out on qualifications at school, this could be the opportunity to turn things around.
