TEIGNMOUTH Pre-School youngsters had a 'lovely' outing to Shaldon Zoo and the Ness House Hotel.

They had been reading the book The Tiger Who Came to Tea, by Judith Kerr, and asked if they could go to a cafe, just like Sophie in the story.

So it was off to the wildlife trust to view the animals, followed by lots of soft drinks and cakes at the hotel.

The children are pictured at the zoo with Julie Matthews, education officer, and Dawn Perry, deputy manager of the pre-school. At the hotel they met Katie Pereira, manager, and were accompanied by Melanie Osbourne, parent-helper.
