Raising money for Newton Abbot’s first defibrillator is within the sights of one National Citizen Service group.
Group spokesman Alex Hall, pictured with his team, said: ‘In our group we are raising money for a defibrillator.
‘We are using the money for a defibrillator as we are trying to raise awareness about heart attacks in younger people - a topic we learned about during phase two of our NCS experience.
‘It will be placed near the Change Academy, Market Street, as this is close to the town centre and is easily accessible.
‘We are raising money through a go fund me page gofundme.com/team-2, and a bake sale outside the Alexandra Cinema tomorrow, August 25, from 1.30-4pm.
‘We have negotiated to buy a defibrillator at cost price and we hope to raise the necessary £550 for our cause,' he said.
