A campaign to acquire the old ferry workshop at Shaldon for community use is hotting up.
So far more than 600 have signed a petition to Teignbridge Council, which owns the building and is planning to sell it.
The regatta committee wants it for use as a store and maintenance workshop for all its equipment – it has 17 boats and lots of beach sports kit to keep in good shape.
It has contacted most Shaldon organisations and offered them space, if practical.
