A £659,000 project to help clean up the polluted sea at Teignmouth began this week.

Unless the water quality improves next year, under much stricter European regulations, notices will be erected warning against bathing.

Various agencies, businesses and the public have been urged to play their part, and on Tuesday, South West Water started constructing a 500 cubic metre underground storage tank in the station car park.
