WORK has begun on a new £1million police headquarters in Teignmouth which is being built on the edge of the town's community college grounds.

If all goes to plan the building should be up and running by some time in May.

It is replacing the dilapidated police station in Carlton Place, which was sold to a developer last year and is now flats. The adjoining premises, now also apartments, housed the long gone town's magistrates court.
