POLICE are probing the death of a woman whose body was discovered in a Teignmouth flat yesterday.

The woman, named locally as Sara Rushton, was found at an address in Northumberland Place.

Paramedics were called to the property after concerns had been expressed for her welfare.

At 1pm an ambulance crew alerted police, who confirmed today that an investigation was under way into the circumstances of the death.

A spokesman said this afternoon: ‘The death is being treated as unexplained. ?The woman’s family have been informed and a file will be prepared for the coroner.’
