A YOUNG man remains in critical condition after a stabbing in Exeter yesterday, Thursday, June 12.
Detectives are seeking witnesses after a man was found seriously injured in Exwick.
The man, who is in his 20s, was located with life-threatening injuries near the River Exe off Station Road.
He had sustained a number of puncture wounds and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital
He was later transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where he remains in a critical condition.
A man in his 20s from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.
Detectives are carrying out enquiries and appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Inspector Dave Ireland said: ‘We are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on 12 June to please contact us.
‘The public will see an increased police presence in the area and we would encourage anyone with information or concerns to speak with officers or to contact us by calling 101’.
A scene guard is in place while police carry out further searches and enquiries, the Mid-Devon Advertiser understands.
