Eye-catching artworks are appearing along Teignmouth seafront as this year’s TRAIL public sculpture display takes shape.

It’s the 20th year of Teignmouth Recycled Art in the Landscape, in which reclaimed and repurposed materials are transformed into striking sculptures and installations by professional and emerging artists, schools and community groups.

The works are put on show in the flowerbeds along the Promenade, creating a free outdoor attraction for Teignmouth’s residents and visitors.

The initiative is organised by Sam Lock of The Makery.

This year the installation of the TRAIL has begun earlier than usual, meaning that some sculptures are still arriving and there is still some information to be added. All should be in place by the beginning of August.

Meanwhile, a collection of indoor artworks by contributors to the TRAIL is on show at TAAG alongside the gallery’s Summer Open Exhibition.

During the coming days and weeks the TRAIL website www.trailart.co.uk will be updated with the stories behind the TRAIL exhibits and details of the artists/organisations that created them.
