WALKERS are being reminded to respect path closures following the recent cliff fall at Shaldon.
Teignbridge Council has issued a safety reminder to residents and walkers to ‘put safety first and please respect the path closures’.
The section of the South West Coast Path through the woodland at the Ness is currently closed after the significant cliff fall at the end of March.
People are being warned not to access Shaldon Beach at the site of the cliff fall as there remains a risk of further landslips.
The South West Coast Path is still accessible via a signed alternative route.
The diversion takes walkers through the Ness car park, onto the public highway, and onwards to Shaldon.
Shaldon Wildlife Trust is open as normal, and access to Ness Cove via the Smuggler's Tunnel is unaffected. However, people are advised not to use the foreshore at low tide around the Ness headland.
Warning signs and safety fencing have been installed around the affected areas.
A Teignbridge Council spokesman said: ‘Please follow all signage, respect fencing and barriers and stay clear of closed areas.
‘These measures are in place to keep everyone safe.
‘Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.’
