TEIGNMOUTH Farmers’ Market returns to the Triangle this Saturday with a new stall... Huxbear Vineyard!

Huxbear is located amongst the rolling hills of the picturesque Teign Valley. Planted in 2007 by Ben and Lucy Hulland, the vineyard covers roughly 15 acres with the three classic Champagne varieties forming the bulk of the planting.

Huxbear is fully off-grid with all power produced from renewable sources.

Ben and Lucy believe that winemaking begins in the vineyard and to make great wine you first need to grow great grapes. As much as possible is done by hand, cutting down on the use of tractors and minimising wherever possible the use of fertilisers and fungicides.

Wild, under vine cover crops are encouraged, increasing insect diversity in the vineyard and creating a beautiful wild flower landscape. No pesticides are used.

Specials this month include a summery strawberry tiramisu from Pesto and the first of the summer fruits from Shute Fruit and Produce.

Teignmouth Farmers’ Market is in The Triangle on Saturday, July, and every last Saturday of the month between 10am and 2pm. More information about the stalls attending is on their Facebook page @ Teignmouth Farmers’ Market.
