A STAR WARS scout trooper has been busy cleaning up Dawlish – but not in the normal way you’d expect from a soldier of a galactic empire
Elliott Wright, as we reported at the beginning of January, had spent the month running up the miles in full Imperial Army body armour to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation – a charity very close to his heart.
‘The lockdown did curtail my running plans quite a bit as I had to stay local,’ said Elliott.
‘However, I did manage to raise more than my target figure of £310 and the charity now has £379 from my efforts.’
Not content with raising charity cash Elliott decided to swap blaster rifle for litter grabber after learning that both Coryton Cove and Boat Cove could do with some TLC when it came to rubbish removal and has been giving the town a litter-picking pick me-up dressed, of course, in full body armour.
‘It certainly raised a few smiles from people,’ added Elliott.
