THE wife of a man who went missing from Chudleigh has thanked everyone who helped rescue her husband.

Her response came after a search for her husband after he was reported missing on Sunday afternoon.

The police helicopter was brought in after the alarm was raised at about 2.15 pm.

At the time a police spokesperson confirmed: ‘Officers, including the police helicopter carried out an area search and located the man at around 4.30pm.

‘The male has been taken to hospital where he remains at this time.’

His wife has since said he is in a critical condition and on a ventilator.

She said: 'Thanks so much to everyone who has offered help.'
