A YOUNGSTER from Kingskerswell will be doing her bit to help out two charities when she gets her hair cut for the first time in eight months this weekend.

Nine-year old Georgie Edwards will be loosing her lockdown locks on Saturday with both the Little Princess Trust and the Devon Air Ambulance benefiting from the trim.

‘With my haircut I will be donating at least seven inches of my hair to the Little Princess Trust,’ said Georgie, who last had her hair cut back in August.

‘They will use my hair to make wigs for little boys and girls who have lost their hair from cancer.

‘I would like to raise some money from my haircut for Devon Air Ambulance as they do a really good job of helping people and I know it’s a hard  time for them to raise money at the moment.’

Mum Jess is naturally proud of her daughter’s idea.

’Georgie decided to do this all by herself and I think it’s a wonderful idea,’ she said.

‘She’s very single-minded and when she says going to something she just gets on with it. She’d set herself a target of raising £200 for the Devon Air Ambulance and has already gone past that figure.’

Anyone wishing to donate can do so by going on to Georgie’s just giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Georgie-Edwards1
