Geraldine Gaskell, of Newton Abbot, writes:
I have said this before and I will say it again – all planning applications should be dealt with by the town or parish council concerned and not district.
The town or parish know all about their neighbourhood. District councils do not know what every part of Teignbridge is like or even where a place is, so how can they decide what planning applications to grant.
So it is about time town or parish councils took over the driving seat on planning. District can be a consultative council – in other words turning the tables.
