A former rector of Teignmouth, the Rev Preb Graham Stones, is travelling on the longest direct rail journey in the UK, to raise funds for a medical charity that has helped his sick granddaughter.
He and daughter Debbie Grierson will be catching the Aberdeen to Penzance train on May 11, which takes 13hrs 23mins, covers 770 miles and passes through 45 stations.
