ONE of the cadet huts in Bitton Park, Teignmouth, was slightly damaged when two trees toppled over at the weekend.

Heavy rain running down the bank loosened the soil, and the tops of the trees tilted and rested against the roof of the ATC hut, one of four in the park.

Town clerk Dave Tickell said immediate steps were taken by tree surgeons to trim the tops to take the weight off the building.
