VOLUNTEERS at Bovey Tracey swimming pool have planted 450 trees as part of a scheme to increase biodiversity.

When grown, the trees will also provide screening and add colour to the perimeter of the pool site.

A spokesman for the pool said: ‘We are certain the hedge will look amazing once grown.

‘This will help increase biodiversity, add some colour to our otherwise grey brick walls, and help protect our aging walls against damage.’

The group which runs the popular pool thanked Devon Wildlife Trust for donating the trees, Bovey Tracey Cricket Club for its support and the town council and all the volunteers involved including those who came to dig the holes and plant the trees.
