CARAVANS have set up in a Newton Abbot park.

The unauthorised encampment of at least four caravans has set up at Sandringham Park on the Buckland Estate.

They are believed to have encamped this morning, Friday, April 26.

It is the responsibility of the district authority to serve an eviction notice as needed.

‘Police have informed us that there is an unauthorised encampment of travellers currently at Sandringham Park, Newton Abbot’ a spokesperson for Teignbridge District Council said.

‘We will visit the site and follow our procedures as set out on our website’ the spokesperson added.
