AN illegal encampment set up at Decoy Country Park left before enforcement action was taken.

Newton Abbot police said its neighbourhood teams were aware of reports of vehicles which had parked up at the country park.

Officers said they wanted to reassure residents they were ‘proactively engaging’ with the individuals concerned.

A spokesman said they were working with Teignbridge Council to ‘address the situation’ and had carried out a joint visit to the park while officers would patrol the area.

By Monday morning, Teignbridge Council said all the vehicle had left and no further action was needed.
