TEIGNMOUTH town centre could be lit up throughout the year.

Councillors and traders are combining to investigate a permanent decorative lighting scheme that would be switched on for special events, not just Christmas.

There has been the usual last-minute wrangle over the provision of Christmas lighting this year, but now there is a determined effort to try to brighten up the dark evenings all year round.
