CONSERVATIVES again took all the top jobs on Teignmouth Town Council.

The new mayor is Cllr Dave Matthews, last year's deputy, who was voted in unanimously at the annual meeting on Tuesday.

From then on the council split more or less on party lines.

Cllr Jacqui Orme, who is in her first term as a councillor, was elected deputy mayor over Lib-Dem Terry Falcao by six votes to four.

Cllr Sylvia Russell was re-elected chairman of the finance and general purposes committee, receiving seven votes against four votes for Cllr Don Baldey, a Lib-Dem.
