Friends rally round for wedding couple
AN ‘ASTOUNDED’ groom-to-be with a terminal condition was ‘blown away’ by the generosity of local people who have moved mountains to give him and his fiancée their dream wedding.
After overcoming cancer following surgery 2019, Marc Vine and fiancée Emily Butcher pledged to get married as soon as possible and started planning for a future date. However, following an intense bout of back pain around two months ago, Marc was told that he has an extremely rare type of cancer. His prognosis, sadly, is terminal.
After receiving the diagnosis, the couple decided to scrap their wedding plans due to not having enough money. Friends of the couple, however, were having none of it and picked up the phone and decided to try and make it happen.
With a ‘massive’ discount the wedding venue, and a small army of traders pledging their services for free, or next to free, and the wedding went ahead. Everything from photography to a bouncy castle for kids on the day was provided by local businesses.
