TEIGNMOUTH’S iconic coastal letters have had their annual paint job.
The letters, seen by millions of rail passengers and walkers, were given a facelift by 20 volunteers who made quick work of painting.
Situated at Sprey Point alongside the main Paddington to Penzance line, the Toblerone-shaped triangular prism has stood there for decades.

Seven years ago residents complained the landmark was looking worn and tatty and now its repainting is an annual event.
Local artist, Sam Lock deigned and painted a logo on the O.
The town’s Guerrilla Gardening Group prepared the sign and organised the event, providing paint and brushes, as well as logistics.
Spokesman for Guerrilla Gardening Group, Cllr Dan Comer said: ‘The Teignmouth Letters are seen by millions of rail travellers so it is important they see a bright sign.’
