RESIDENTS in Teignmouth took part in the Marine Marine Conservation Society’s annual Great British Beach Clean.

Volunteers removed litter from a designated 100-metre stretch of beach, whilst recording the types of waste collected.

The nationwide initiative brought together thousands of volunteers to clean up Britain’s beaches and safeguard marine life.

As one of the UK’s largest citizen science projects focused on ocean health, the event plays a vital role in tackling coastal pollution

The data helps the Marine Conservation Society campaign for stronger environmental protections and contributes to the global International Coastal Cleanup database.

Staff and residents from several developments in the Teignmouth area run by property management company First Port helped support environmental sustainability whilst benefitting the local community.

Tracey Goodman, Development Manager at Leander Court, managed by FirstPort, commented: ‘It was great to see colleagues and residents come together for the Great British Beach Clean in Teignmouth.

'The team cleared a surprising variety of waste from the shoreline.

‘Not only did we make a positive impact on our local environment, but we also strengthened connections with colleagues and residents.’
