If you fancy something a little different to get your festive mood into top gear, Teignmouth Players are offering Crack Open Christmas, a festive review in a cabaret setting.

Said co-director Gay White: ‘We want to send our audiences home feeling warm and fuzzy and looking forward to Christmas.’

The players are taking full advantage of the intimate and very adaptable space in their theatre by rearranging it in the style of a cabaret revue club.

Instead of rows of seats, the audience will sit around tables on a level area overlooking the performance space to enjoy a mixture of sketches, jokes, poems, monologues, and music on a Christmas and winter theme.

Audience participation will be encouraged and songsheets provided for those who wish to join in.

The proceedings will be supervised by the Elves – otherwise known as front of house staff – who will be part of the show and serving mulled wine, mince pies, savoury tit bits and taking drinks orders at tables.

Crack Open Christmas will run for two nights only – tomorrow and Saturday (December 8 and 9).
