STUDENTS and staff at Teign School in Kingsteignton gathered to mark Armistice Day.
More than 1,100 joined in the annual service which has become a tradition at the school.
Following the sounding the Last Post, the crowd held a two minutes silence as the crowd paid their respects.
This year, students who are part of uniformed organisations, including cadets, scouts, brownies and guides, were invited to attend in their service uniforms.
During the ceremony, a student gave a thoughtful reading of The Inquisitive Mind of a Child — a poem exploring the meaning of the poppy and the importance of remembering.
Headteacher Lucie Wagner expressed pride in how the students conducted themselves.
She said: ‘Every year, our students show such maturity and respect during this event.
‘It’s truly special to see them come together in silence to honour those who served. This tradition reminds us all of the strength of our school community and the importance of remembering together.’
