THE second Fashion Show organised by Teignmouth Tangent last Thursday was another runaway success and raised £2,608.

Last year they fundraised for Rowcroft Hospice and this year’s chairman, Sheila Malynn chose Devon Air Ambulance. Gerry Willocks, fundraising officer for Tangent was the driving force behind the event with her meticulous planning and her enthusiasm for good causes, writes Pam Stanway.

More than 200 ladies enjoyed a fun evening sitting around the catwalk at the hospitable Langstone Cliff Hotel.

The evening had real vibrancy and glamour as Number Seventeen and the Shoe Centre, a family run business excelled themselves with their slick organisation headed by Sarah and Sean Nicks and Kate Passey.

Sarah gave a running commentary as volunteer models sashayed down the catwalk wearing the new season floaty floral frocks and casual jeans and tops with vibrant accessories.

The icing on the cake was the super fit young male models and Sean strutting their stuff wearing the latest shirts and shorts and loafers. Some eye candy for the ladies. They even had a pop up shop where guests could buy first hand some of the evenings accessories.

There was a luxury raffle with over fifty prizes to include generous contributions by Club members ,Langstone Cliff , Number Seventeen and Laura Wall. The raffle netted over £900 which delighted Secretary Pam Stanaway.

After the interval , immediate past chairman Anne Taylor did an Auction with additional clothing items and paintings.

Not only did the ladies have a good night out but their ticket entitled them to 20 per cent off purchases at both shops. So now the local ladies will be stylish enough to go to the Coronation to see the King, in fact one of the Ladies who attended – Chairman Sheila – was delighted to learn from our erstwhile treasurer Jackie that the evening had raised £2,608 for Devon Air Ambulance.
