THE lovely ladies of Newton Abbot Women’s Institute recently learned about the life of an air traffic controller.
Members heard from Nick Clyburn on his life as an air traffic controller.
A former Royal Air Force officer and air traffic controller with more than 40 years of experience in military and civilian air traffic management, Nick’s service took him across the globe, controlling some of the busiest air spaces and control centres.
He used light-hearted anecdotes from his career and members enjoyed a Q and A session too.
‘Huge thanks go to him for the insight into life in the skies and keeping us all safe’, Karen Jenks, Newton Abbot WI’s press officer, said.
Elsewhere, at their Annual Meeting in April, a new Committe was voted in and new President Karen Jenks thanked outgoing President Elaine Menzies for her three years at the helm.
