ADOPTING the latest clothes recycling craze from the States, the Teignmouth and Dawlish branch of the NSPCC raised £423 for charity.
Twiggy first brought 'swishing' to this country in a recent BBC2 programme. Seeing they were on to a good thing, pioneering women of the NSPCC branch rebranded the event Trash or Treasure, which was held at Teignmouth Golf Club.
Hundreds of good quality, used frocks, shoes, handbags and accessories were donated, then swapped or 'swished', for a small fee.
The women enjoyed a glass of wine and the stunning vistas from the golf club lounge while raising money and saving themselves a great deal of cash into the bargain.
Organiser Dee Whittle said: 'I would like to thank everyone who attended and generously gave some very good quality clothes.
'I hope that everyone left home with at least one garment they no longer needed and returned with something new that they can enjoy.'
