A multi-million pound scheme expected to transform shopping in Teignmouth has taken a major step forward.,Supermarket giant Morrisons has submitted its scheme for Broadmeadow to Teignbridge planners, and if approved work could start within weeks.,It would be one of the biggest yet single investments in the resort.,While most residents welcome the arrival of a new store complex, traders have mixed feelings.,They support the comprehensive regeneration of the run down industrial estate and the reinstatement of the contaminated sports pitches, but many fear a large supermarket on the outskirts could kill off some town centre businesses.,'The impact on our members is uncertain – it will inevitably be to the detriment of some, but benefit others,' said Andy Robinson, chairman of the Teignmouth Traders' Association.,'We embrace developments that enhance Teignmouth's appeal as a shopping centre.,'I hope Morrisons will work with us, recognising that it would not be in anybody's interest for the town centre to suffer.',T
