YOUNGSTERS from a Teignmouth school have raised £500 for a cancer charity.
Year 10 students at Trinity were tasked with selecting a charity and arranging a money raising event.
Force, which works with people affected by cancer, was chosen, and the money spinner was a Hollywood Night.
Students dressed as Hollywood characters – including the Penguin (right), decorated the school, made cakes and threw themselves into the community event with gusto.
Rude Tiger, a local band with a growing reputation, played free of charge, providing many of the students with their first experience of a live band.
A group of pupils, supported by Rob Larkman, head of PE, also performed a human pyramid to raise awareness of Force.
And there was more fundraising for another charity when three pupils – Tom Smith, Sam Smith and Josh Anderson – ook part in a triathlon for Help for Heroes, supported by Mark Acher, head of the sixth form.
They swam 30 lengths of the pool, cycled on stationary bikes for 40-minute and completed 25 laps of the athletics pitch.
