AN often overlooked area of Teignmouth town centre was given a boost with its first Christmas craft and gift market.
Hundreds flocked to Northumberland Place on Saturday, and a delighted Emma Kay, town centre development manager, said she was delighted with the turnout.
'It is the first time something like this has happened there, and we are thrilled to hear it has benefited businesses. We are hoping to repeat it next year.'
There were 15 stalls, full of unique, handmade gifts including chocolates, soaps, jewellery and local artwork.
